Eminem Welcomes Detroit Pistons to Their New Arena

On Wednesday night (Oct. 18), the Detroit Pistons stepped into their new Little Caesars Arena for the first game of the NBA's 2017-2018 season, and when they did, they were welcomed by none other than Detroit legend Eminem. Holding the mic at the side of the court, Slim Shady pumped up the crowd as players like Andre Drummond and Tobias Harris took the court.

"Welcoming back, for the first time in almost 40 years, to our city, to my city, to your city, make some noise for the Detroit Pistons. Let's go!" Em shouted as the instrumental to his hit single "Lose Yourself" played in the background.

As Em alluded to, the Pistons had called The Palace at Auburn Hills, in Auburn Hills, Mich., their home arena for decades before the Detroit-based Little Caesars Arena opened last month. Em's shoutout, along with playing in a new spot, might have meant some luck for the Pistons, as they defeated the visiting Charlotte Hornets 102-90.

Eminem, who's reportedly got a new album coming out some time soon, is fresh off dropping a scathing verse directed at President Trump. In the freestyle, which he delivered at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, the rap legend took shots at the 45th president from every angle imaginable, and earned plenty of praise from the rap community.
