Rapper Eminem says that during his five year battle with prescription drugs, he can't recall some key moments in life or in his music career. The rapper says he blames his addiction to these type drugs for his memory loss. The rapper struggled with a raging addiction to pills including sedative Ambien. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, he says, "I try to stay recording, because if I don't, I get rusty. I'm very paranoid about writer's block - I had it for four years, and it drove me f***ing crazy. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't think of s**t.

The singer says that the pills have literally wiped away five years of his life. Eminem further explains, "The pills had a lot to do with it. Just wiping out brain cells. I don't know if it sounds like I'm making excuses, but the absolute truth is a lot of my memory is gone."

He says that people will often tell him stories of the past and he is like, "I did that?" The memory loss has gotten so bad the rapper says often he will see old clips of himself on television, and he can't even recall that certain event(s).

The lesson learned here is rather simple, life is just too short to simply have pills erase it all from the memory bank. Imagine if you had this type addiction and couldn't recall some of the most meaningful moments in your life? I think what Eminem is trying to tell us all here is that is simply isn't worth it. Don't fall or feed into this type addiction because what is the past can be a beautiful...if you can remember it.
