On what may be the single biggest day in college football, National Signing Day, UL-Lafayette has a list of great events happening today at the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility. Coming off a recent bowl victory in New Orleans, Head Coach Mark Hudspeth and his staff are excited to bring in their first recruiting class to UL. Never before has a National Signing Day been so exciting and so anticipated at UL till now.In his first year as head coach at UL, Mark Hudspeth led the Ragin Cajuns to their first bowl in over 40 years. It has been noted through several publications that much of the success in 2011 came with recruits from a previous administration. However, all of that changes today as Mark Hudspeth and his staff welcome their first recruits to Cajun Country today starting at 5pm.

The Cajuns will kickoff  their National Signing Day Celebration presented by Gulf Coast Bank today, Feb. 1st, inside the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility. Doors open at 5 p.m., and admission is free for all RCAF Annual Fund donors and UL students with ID. Admission is $15 for single non-members or $20 for couples, while fans who invest in the RCAF Annual Fund at the door will receive free admission.

The event will feature players and coaches signing autographs, plus you can get up close and personal with the R+L Carriers Championship Trophy. Also on display will be the MVP Trophy that was awarded to UL Quarterback Blaine Gautier.

The event will highlight the recent success of the Cajuns 2011 season in a video package, plus a highlight reel of those athletes committing to UL will air in the indoor facility. Food will be served at the event compliments of  Abacus, while complimentary beverages will be served by Coca-Cola Bottling of Acadiana. Acadiana Fun Jumps will provide entertainment for kids.
