Who's ready for some gumbo?

A strong cool front is forecasted to push further southward early next week and nighttime temperatures could be in the upper 50s for most parts of Acadiana.

While a potential hurricane enters the Gulf of Mexico next week, this strong cool front is projected to keep any storm well East of Louisiana.

Still, our guard should still be up, but most of the consistent models show any storm in the gulf next week going well East of Louisiana.

So, how cool will it get early next week? Early forecasts call for daytime temperatures to be in the upper 80s, but nighttime temps here could call for the gumbo pots or firepits.

We will continue to monitor the situation in the gulf this weekend and all updates will be here and via this station's mobile app.

Fall officially started on September 22.
