Fergie Hints ‘Double Dutchess’ Could Be Days Away From Release
It's been 10 long years since the release of Fergie's debut solo album The Dutchess, but only a few more days separate fans from its follow-up, if the singer's Twitter account is any indication.
Fergie, who released "M.I.L.F. $" — a first look into her next LP — in July, unveiled a short video via social media last night (November 7) that had fans stirring. The clip includes a barrage of tweets from followers begging for updates on Double Dutchess, Fergie's sophomore album, and at the segment's end, a collection of "11/11" symbols appear. Naturally, fans have inferred this means November 11 is a date worth watching — hopefully for the album they've been waiting for.
"queen of pop coming to save the industry," one follower wrote, while another noted "QUEEN LETS SAVE POP MUSIC."
In August, Fergie told NME "M.I.L.F. $" represented a new chapter in her career, through which she planned to champion women as multi-dimensional beings who aren't just limited to motherhood roles if and when they decided to have kids.
Fergie, herself, gave birth to son Axl Jack in August 2013.
"I envisioned it to have a good message – a liberating message,” she said. “Just because you’re a mom, that doesn’t mean being a mom has to be the only thing that defines you. You can be a politician; you can be a teacher; you can be sexy, flirty and fun and naughty once in a while. You can be all these great things other than just being a mom, and still be a fantastic mom at the same time. Being a mom is my first priority, but it’s not the only thing I am."
