Officials with the Lafayette Fire Department say that a vacant Lafayette bar on McKinley Street was the scene of a fire at around 3 o'clock this morning.

It was a big situation, as Lafayette Fire Department Spokesman Alton Trahan says there were twenty-four firefighters that fought for close to twenty minutes to get the blaze under control.

The last known business at the location in the 200 block of McKinley Street was called the Good Ole Boy's Hookah Bar.

There were some witnesses to the fire, and they told officials that the building was not secured in any way. Witnesses were also able to see that people were coming in and out of the building, and so the question is whether or not people were living in the building.

There was plenty of damage to the building, and the cause of the fire is still be investigating.

If you know anything about this fire, please call Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS(8477).
