If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate Mardi Gras this year since all of the festivities are canceled, this may be exactly what you need. After a baseball coach in Delgado came up with the idea of a drive-through Carnival experience, everything was done to make that dream a reality.

The New Orleans City Park officials said they are going to put on a unique Mardi Gras version of their “Celebration in the Oaks” to offer something festive for everyone who will miss the Mardi Gras parades since they were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will be a fundraiser for the park and offer something fun and safe for the public at the same time.

The website describes the event as a once in a lifetime opportunity for visitors to view iconic floats from various Mardi Gras krewes all in one place and it will give our region the opportunity to experience a part of Mardi Gras during this historic year. Families can safely participate in a parade-type event by viewing stationery floats from their cars, while also supporting City Park.
