The Western Michigan University football team came up with a unique way to award a walk-on player with a full scholarship. They taped his scholarship to a ball and kicked it to him.

Trevor Sweeney was trying out for the team this year, and his hard work has paid off. The team and the university awarded the young man with a scholarship, but it came in a unique way. No, the coach didn't call him or visit his home to offer him the scholarship, they taped the offer to the football and kicked it to him during practice.

Once Sweeny caught the ball he found the letter taped to the ball and that is when he read the offer in front of his teammates.

This was like watching a real-life "Rudy" moment. The whole team knew about this, and you can tell that they were just as excited as Sweeny once he read the letter.

This is just another reason to love sports. Its moments like this that should remind us why we play and watch sports.
