Former Priest Michael Guidry Transferred To State Prison
Michael Guidry has been transferred from Avoyelles Parish into the Dixon Correctional Facility in Jackson, according to our news partners at KATC.
A now former priest from St. Landry Parish who pleaded guilty to the molestation of a juvenile received a seven year prison sentence today according to our news partners at KATC.
Michael Guidry was also sentenced to three years of probation.
While the sentence was ten years, the judge suspended three years of the sentence.
The 76-year-old man pleaded guilty to sexual molestation.
The investigation revealed that the 16-year-old victim was molested while at the priest's home.
Guidry had been the longtime leader of the church in Morrow when he admitted to police that he gave the teenager alcohol and then sexually assaulted him.
