Ten years after winning a Super Bowl with the Saints, former wide receiver Robert Meachem is joining the coaching staff at De La Salle high school, head coach Ryan Manale told The Times-Picayune yesterday.

Meachem, the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 2007 draft, will be a wide receivers coach with the De La Salle Panthers.

Meachem, 34, last played in 2014.

For his career, he hauled in 178 passes for 2,914 yards and 27 touchdowns.

In the 2009 Super Bowl season, Meachem scored 9 touchdowns, with the most memorable moment of his career coming in week 12.

In a win over Washington, Meachem stripped the ball from a Redskins defender who had intercepted a pass, and ran it back for a score.

It is one of the iconic plays from an iconic season in Saints history.
