Louisiana's own Grammy and Emmy award winning singer, actor, and American Idol host Harry Connick Jr. is being honored in a big way next week. On October 24 the New Orleans native will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Connick will be honored at the ceremony by his 'New In Town' co-star Renee Zellweger, and 'American Idol' executive producer/showrunner Trish Kinane. The Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and maintained by the Hollywood Historic Trust.

In addition to being an award winning singer / songwriter, Connick has appeared in some pretty huge movies. He costarred in 'Hope Floats', 'P.S. I Love You' and 'Dolphin Tale'. He also was nominated for two Tony Awards for his work in 'The Pajama Game' and 'Thou Shalt Not'. Check out a clip from 'Hope Floats' below with his co star Sandra Bullock.

Connick has a new album coming out on October 25th called 'True Love: A Celebration of Cole Porter', and a show on Broadway in December called 'Harry Connick, Jr: A Celebration of Cole Porter'. Congratulations, Harry, your Louisiana friends are so proud of you!
