Conor McGregor's return to the UFC didn't go quite as he expected as the boisterous brawler was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov on Saturday night (Oct. 6) at UFC 229.

Nurmagomedov (27-0) remained undefeated, defended his 155-pound championship, but it wasn't a walk in the park. After multiple take downs, Nurmagomedov was able to submit McGregor (21-4) with a rear-naked choke hold shortly after three minutes into the fourth round.

Unfortunately for the UFC, the action didn't stop there as a huge brawl broke out between the camps immediately after the fight. Nurmagomedov leaped out of the Octagon and squared up with McGregor's jiu-jitsu coach, Dillon Danis. Then, two men hopped into the ring and began to swing on McGregor. The brawl resulted in three members of Nurmagomedov's team being arrested.

UFC owner Dana White was not pleased with the post-fight spectacle. "Khabib diving over [the cage] was ridiculous," he told ESPN. "You know, you just won a great fight, you fought brilliantly, you're about to get the belt on and people are going to respect the fact that you fought well and you won the fight. And instead, you dive over the cage and start this huge melee with Conor's corner.

"I actually didn't allow [Nurmagomedov] to get the belt put on because I knew what was going to happen when we did it was people were going to throw whatever they had into the Octagon, so let's just get him out of here. ... Sure enough, as soon as they started going through the tunnel, exactly what I knew was gonna happen. I was like, 'We'll be lucky enough just to get him out of here without the belt.'"

All the while, fight fans in the hip-hop community were glued to their sets. Many have offered their opinions on what they saw on social media. "Great win @TeamKhabib sometimes u have to burn the whole house down...i understand," Pusha-T tweeted.

Others were just as interested in the post-fight fades. "Nigga. The fight after the fight was worth the price of the fight," Freddie Gibbs posted on Twitter.

It looks like McGregor is ready to get it on again, tweeting after the match, "Good knock. Looking forward to the rematch."
