Whenever someone mentions "Hostess Snack Cakes" it always brings up such fond memories of childhood. Most of us grew up with Ding Dongs, Twinkies, Chocolate Cakes, and of course, SnoBalls. A delicious treat that I still indulge in every once in a while. So whenever I hear about a snack recall, I always want to pass along the info, because it's not just kids who love Hostess Snacks.

The Hostess Brand Company issued a voluntary recall over the weekend of their popular single-serve SnoBalls snack cakes. The US Food and Drug Administration posted the alert due to an undeclared allergen in the pastries. The alert claimed, via WWL, that "some SnoBalls pastries were manufactured in the wrong packaging. Hostess said SnoBalls snack cakes made on March 13, 2021, were packaged in Chocolate CupCakes, and it does not list coconut as an ingredient."

Hostess stated that the UPC number for the recalled items is 888109010096. The "Best By Date" is listed as May 27, 2021. According to the FDA, the snacks were sold at various convenience stores, dollar stores, and distributors throughout the US. So far no injuries have been reported due to the mixup, but the FDA is saying customers can always call 1-800-483-7253 or visit www.hostesscakes.com with any questions or concerns.  You can take any of the recalled products back to your place of purchase for a full refund.
