iLoveMakonnen's relationship with OVO officially ended last week and while some rap fans hope a beef between Makonnen and Drake would be brewing, it appears there is no bad blood between the two. A Periscope broadcast and a series of tweets from Makonnen over the weekend found the "Tuesday" rapper in a joking, beef-free mood as he addressed his split with OVO.

"Why do you think OVO cut me? 'Cause I'm underweight now," he joked to the camera. "When I was overweight, they were fuckin' with me. That's what OVO stands for; overweight only. Overweight niggas only."

On Sunday (April 24), Makonnen let off a barrage of tweets calling for people to focus on the positives in life and lambasted blogs and news outlets for only focusing on the negative. In the series of tweets, the Atlanta native called Drizzy a good role model and admitted that he liked his personality much more than his music when they first met.

"Drake is a good role model for all of us, so many want me to say negative things about him but I just can't! He is a true good human," he tweeted. "It's not many of them in the spotlight! I'm glad we have him! It's true I didn't fuck with his music in 2013 or whenever, but I met him and the human he is in real life is much better than any song. I have nothing but love and respect for Drake. Period."

In the statement released by Makonnen announcing his next venture, the crooner took the high road and thanked the OVO team for their support and being integral in his success.

“I cannot thank OVO, 40, Oliver, Future & Mr. Morgan, enough for all that they have done for my career," he wrote. "No words can express how much I appreciate Drake for being a part of the success of 'Tuesday.' I’m sure the haters will have something negative to say, but all in all my choice to be solely on Warner Bros Records was the right thing for me and for my best interest. Sorry there’s no beef to report, DRINK MORE WATER.” -ILOVEMAKONNEN

Makonnen has a busy summer ahead of him as he's already announced a mixtape with Lil Yachty and a tour with Lil B.
