Over the weekend I was introduced to this new course most pedestrians are recommending to parents who own swimming pools, its called Infant Swimming Resource SelF-Rescue.

The class, which is a six-week-long course, instructs infants on how to survive if they fall into a swimming pool. The course teaches the infant to float on his or her back, and even teaches the infant on how to get out of the pool on their own.

Each session is ten minutes long and by the end of the six-week-long course, an infant will know how to float on his or her back until help arrives.

We have seen so many incidents in Acadiana where infants fall into a pool while unattended to and the outcome is tragic. What do you think about such courses? Would you ever consider subjecting your baby to these type water survival courses?
