A CHP officer had to smash the window of a moving car in order rescue a driver that passed out behind the wheel in the middle of a San Diego freeway.

According to KTLA, the woman was stopped in the middle of the busy freeway while cars zoomed by early Friday morning. A passerby—who happened to be a TV cameraman—had his camera rolling as he ran up and tapped on the window, but was unsuccessful in trying to get the woman to wake up.

Soon, CHP officer Sergio Flores arrived on the scene and tapped on the driver side window, attempting to get the driver's attention—then the unthinkable happened.

The black Chrysler Sebring began to roll on the freeway after the driver's foot slipped off the brake. The officer yelled at the woman,

Stop your car, you’re going to crash!

Still getting no response the officer ran around to the passenger side and was able to smash a window, throw open the door, and pull the parking brake—all while the car was in motion.

The driver was identified as Amber Dlaine McKinney Morgan, and arrested on suspicion of DUI after officers found a large bottle of alcohol and other drinks in the backseat.
