An iOS shortcut on your iPhone is making a comeback in light of recent events. According to Popular Mechanics, the "I'm Getting Pulled Over" shortcut has been around since 2018, but it's seen a big resurgence lately. If you get stopped for any traffic violations, or anything else, you can use the shortcut to record your interactions with police.

The developer, Robert Peterson, posted on his Twitter profile yesterday that he has talked to some officers, and none had a problem with the recordings. You can see his tweet below.

To activate the shortcut, you just need to say "Hey Siri, I'm Getting Pulled Over", and 18 different actions will be initiated. Popular Mechanics says "The shortcut will immediately begin to record with your front-facing camera, dim your phone to zero percent brightness, pause any music or sounds playing in the background, turn off Do Not Disturb, and send your pinpointed location—plus the recording—to one of your emergency contacts." The video will also be backed up to your iCloud or DropBox account, in case you delete it.

Of course, you first have to install the shortcut, and maybe take a few test runs to make sure you know how to use it. Look, I have the utmost respect for the men and women in blue, but it's always a good idea to ensure you have some protection in case something happens, and you need to have a record of your interactions.
