The Lafayette, Louisiana police officer who was killed while in the line of duty and was laid to rest on Thursday, August 1, 2024, and prior to the funeral procession, LPD announced Officer Jolivette's End of Watch while many of his colleagues stood at attention.

Senior Cpl Segus Jolivette was shot and killed during a hostage situation in Jeanerette, Louisiana, and officers from across the southern region came to Acadiana to pay their respects to Officer Jolivette.

Before Officer Jolivette was escorted to his resting place, LPD announced his "End of Watch" and the special moment for all in attendance was caught on camera by KLFY News 10.

Listen to this very moving message as Officer Jolivette was remembered by so many he worked with.

His celebration of life was held in Opelousas and the procession traveled down I-49, then into the city of Lafayette.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and colleagues during this very difficult time
