How to Watch Beloved Christmas Specials in Louisiana for Free

From the time I was a little kid until today, there are some Christmas cartoon specials that just help make my holiday special. And I'm guessing that most people in Louisiana feel the same.

If you haven't bought the DVD's or if you just love the idea of watching these shows with the rest of America when they air then you need to know when they will be playing on the major networks.

Well, once again this year, I have some good and some bad news, or at least some so-so news. Two of the classic animated cartoons that we all love will air for free on CBS, but one favorite can only be seen for free for a very short window.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

One of my favorite classics is "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The animated cartoon classic first aired in 1964 according to Smithsonian Magazine. Here is another fun fact; it is the longest-running Christmas special in history.

If you don't have a copy of Rudolph and you want to watch for free with the rest of the country then we have a date!

If you love "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" you'll be able to watch it on CBS on Monday, November 27. It will air at 7 p.m. Central. Now you know what I will be doing on that Monday.

Frosty the Snowman

One of my other favorite animated cartoon specials to watch along with the rest of America is "Frosty the Snowman". I love little Karen, and I love when Frosty says, "Happy Birthday"!

The first time this cartoon Christmas classic aired was on December 7, 1969 according to imdb.com, and it like the other cartoon classics has been a mainstay of all of us for years.

We will all be able to watch "Frosty the Snowman" together on the evening of Saturday, December 16, 2023. It will air at 8 p.m. Central, and it will be followed by "Frosty Returns".

Even now when I think about that iconic hat blowing in the wind and ending up on Frosty's head I think of the happiness that this cartoon brings to millions of children and us adults! And who doesn't cry at the end of "Frosty the Snowman"?

A Charlie Brown Christmas

I just can't make it through a holiday season without watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Everything in this animated cartoon shows us about love.

It shows us that we need to care for one another. And it's Linus' speech explaining what Christmas is all about is so sweet! And, God doesn't care if we are like that little tree, we belong to him.

"Fear not, for I bring you good tidings of joy". Here is the beautiful speech:

So, where and how can I watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas"? It will only be free for a short time.

Apple acquired the show, and they own it. They will make it free to everyone on Saturday, December 16, and Sunday, December 17, 2023. You log on these two days to see if for free.

Again this year, that is the only way you can watch it for free without having to buy a subscription for it, buy the DVD, or rent it via another platform on your TV.

There is a petition though that it should be aired. In 2020, ABC sold the rights to the shows to Apple and another investor, but the petition is still up!
