LSU Coach Kim Mulkey Gets Emotional While Addressing New Orleans Tragedy

The state of Louisiana is still attempting to comprehend what happened in the early morning hours of New Year's Day in New Orleans.

15 people lost their lives while out on Bourbon Street celebrating the New Year after a man drove his truck through the crowed roadway in the French Quarter.

Like so many around Louisiana, LSU Women's Basketball Coach Kim Mulkey is still trying to understand why this happened, and when asked to address the tragedy, she got a bit emotional.

Coach Mulkey, who has kids, said that she can't imagine how the parents and families of those killed must feel today. She encouraged all of us to pray to come together during this difficult time.

The FBI deemed that the man who drove the truck into the crowd in New Orleans worked alone and that he may have been motivated to drive his vehicle through the crowd after explosive devices that he planted in the French Quarter did not detonate.
