When Do Lafayette Parish Students Return to School?

K-5th-grade students on A day have their first day of school on Wednesday, August 12th, along with all students in Lafayette Parish in the following grades:

  • 7th
  • 8th
  • 9th
  • 11th

K-5th-grade students on B day have their first day of school on Thursday, August 13th, along with all students in Lafayette Parish in the following grades:

  • 6th
  • 10th
  • 12th

A day students are those whose addresses end in an odd number, while B day students are those whose addresses end in an even number.

All students in K-12th grades report on Friday, August 14.

Lafayette Parish Breakfast and Lunch Menu for Wednesday

Wednesday, August 12, breakfast will be a blueberry waffle, blue raspberry applesauce, and a juice of choice. Lunch will be pepperoni pizza, a marinara cup, broccoli with cheese, green beans, and fruit cocktail.

Thursday, August 13, breakfast will be mini-waffles, a pineapple cup, and a juice of choice. Lunch will be a cheeseburger, potato rounds, burger trimmings, baked beans, and mandarin oranges.

Friday, August 14, breakfast will be a pancake and sausage stick, mixed berry raisins, and a juice of choice. Lunch will be a hot dog with chili, French fries, carrot sticks with ranch dressing, an oatmeal cookie, and a banana.
