There have been acts of vandalism that have been recorded across Acadiana in recent months. From religious statues in several parts of the state being vandalized to vehicles in other parts of the state.

Cars in Ville Platte were vandalized last week, and officials are investigating to find out who is responsible.

There was a statue of Jesus that was vandalized outside of Sacred Heart Church in Broussard last week.

The Jesus Worship Center Church in Jennings had their church spray painted with ugly words and Satanic symbols on October 5.

Now, a vandalizing happened at a child's grave in Eunice according to a report by KLFY. The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office is looking into who would do this to a child's grave.

Outraged is one of the ways the family has described how they feel after a 2-year-old toddler's grave was desecrated. They are hoping that officials will be able to find the person responsible for doing something like this.

The child's father, Devin Fontenot, was notified by his mother that the gravesite was targeted and thrown in the ditch. The little boy died from a seizure a year ago.

The child's grandmother Kimberly Fontenot told KLFY,

"We have been living through hell and back, and to have to get a phone call saying that my grandson's stuff was thrown like he was a dog, I just can't believe this."

All of the decorations that were on the grave had been taken off, and they were thrown over a fence and into that ditch.

The family is saddened and angry by what happened. And what makes it all the more worse is that the anniversary of the little boy's death is coming up.

Brandon Frank had this to say to KLFY,

"We want the public to know that we're tired of this tragic thing that happened, and my family is about to relive this again next month on Thanksgiving Day. While everybody is thankful, we're going to be sitting there reliving this devastating, tragic event that happened."
