Louisiana Law Enforcement Make Arrest in School Threat

Officials in a Louisiana school district made a swift arrest after a threat was made to a high school on social media.

Officials with the Calcasieu Parish School Board have advised the public that they, along with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, took a threat made on social media against Iowa High School very seriously, and an arrest has been made.

No information about the arrest has been made public at this point, but officials with the school system say that there will be an increased police presence at the campus today due to the threat that was made.

School officials say all threats are taken seriously, and they are appreciative of the families who reported the social media threat to officials at the school and to local law enforcement.

Just this week there was another school shooting. The shooting in Georgia led to the deaths of two teachers and two students. A teenager, Colt Gray has been arrested in connection to the deaths of Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimie, two math teachers. The two students who were shot to death have been identified as Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo.

Gray's father, Colin Gray, has been arrested in connection with the deaths. In 2023, officials with local law enforcement visited the Gray home after the FBI received a tip that a person had made a threat on the gamer app Discord to shoot up a school.

In this Calcasieu Parish threat, officials say the person was booked into the juvenile detention facility.
