Louisiana Prepares For Another Round of Thunderstorms This Week
Much of Acadiana is cleaning up after severe weather came through late Monday afternoon, and now we look ahead to more thunderstorms.
While we may not want to hear about severe weather for quite some time, we should be weather-aware again this week.
The extended forecast for Acadiana calls for another round of storms by Thursday night, and even into early Friday morning.
While the storms that could show up here later this week may not have the "punch" like what we witnessed Monday, storms could or may drop enough rainfall for some flash flooding.
So, if you need to get things done around your house or in your yard after the recent storms, you have a few good days to get out and accomplish things. It would also be a great time to make sure you have new batteries in flashlights and radios.
We will continue to monitor the weather at the station and all updates to keep you and the family safe will be announced on-air and on this station's mobile app.
Again, forecasters do not anticipate the next round of storms in Louisiana to be as severe as what we saw Monday afternoon, but only time will tell so be alert and stay prepared.
