Major Crash Shuts Down I-10 in Lafayette

Another major crash has shut down I-10.

Multiple sources report that a major crash has led to the shutdown of I-10 westbound near I-49 in Lafayette.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to seek an alternate route.

Here's a statement from the Lafayette Pollice Department:

"Traffic is being diverted onto I49 north. Traffic is also being diverted onto Louisiana Ave from I10 westbound. Lafayette Traffic Investigators have been called out to the scene and a crime scene has been established. This crash is currently under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Unit. Additional information shall be released as findings are made by LPD Traffic Investigators."

UPDATE: All lanes have been re-opened on the interstate.
