New Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick was involved in a crash over the weekend after she allegedly hit two pedestrians with her unit.

The incident reportedly happened at Decatur and Iberville Streets intersection on Aug. 3.

According to WGNO, Kirkpatrick struck a man and a woman with her vehicle while she was on duty.

The woman was taken to a hospital in stable condition and the man hit by the car says that he was not injured. Since the accident, the woman who was struck has been released from the hospital.

NOPD says that Kirkpatrick took a breathalyzer and recorded a 0.00 reading, and she submitted a urine sample to be analyzed.

The New Orleans news station reports that Kirkpatrick went to a local hospital to visit an injured officer and after leaving the medical facility that is when she hit the two people walking in the French Quarter.

NOPD says that their traffic division is conducting the investigation into this crash, and once the investigation is complete it will be turned over to the Louisiana State Police.
