As a journalist, one of the things that made me love the job is how every day is different. Different news, different stories, different songs, different people, different weather it’s all different day-to-day. But, that’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

A newspaper in Tennessee, owned by Gannett, is looking for someone who is willing to fill the “blank space” with stories on the one and only Taylor Swift. The Tennessean is looking for an expert on all things Taylor Swift, who can cover her meteoric rise to be one of the world’s most popular entertainers. As the Eras tour extends into a second year, this reporter will follow her every move for readers in her native Nashville.

According to the job description, you must be able to “shake it off” with a thoughtful analysis of her music and career.

The successful candidate is a driven, creative and energetic journalist able to capture the excitement around Swift's ongoing tour and upcoming album release, while also providing thoughtful analysis of her music and career.

We are looking for a journalist with a voice — but not a bias — able to quickly cultivate a national audience through smart content designed to meet readers on their terms. This reporter will chronicle the biggest moments on the next portions of Taylor Swift’s tour, offering readers of USA TODAY, The Tennessean and more than 200 local news sources an inside view.

I don't know about you, but I know several people in Lafayette who would be perfect for this role. We don't want them to move though, so maybe there is a work-from-home option. In any case, I can't wait until a hire is made and we can start reading the stories.
