Acadiana Business Roundup: A Hibachi Restaurant Moves, a Dunkin’ Deal Collapses, and Noah’s Café Is Up for Lease

LAFAYETTE, La. - In this week's roundup of businesses coming and going in the Acadiana area, we've got closings and relocations, businesses for sale, and updates on pending businesses.

Tsubaki By Koi Is Relocating — Last Day at Ambassador Caffery Is May 31

Let's start with a long-time hibachi favorite making a move. The owners of Tsubaki By Koi have announced on social media that they will be closing their current location, only to move it to a new spot.

Tsubaki is currently located at 3564 Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette, and has been at that location since 2018. (They did temporarily close in 2023, only to reopen with new management and owners later that year.) The owners have announced that May 31, 2026, will be the last day at the current location.

As to where exactly Tsubaki is re-opening, that question still remains unanswered. We'll keep tabs on this move and update things once we find out the new address.

Dunkin' Plans for Carencro's Old Hardee's Building Are Dead

The next update involves the old Hardee's / Soul Haus building in Carencro on Hector Connoly Road. A few months back we got word that the building was sold and it was to become a Dunkin' Donuts.

Well, it appears that won't be happening. The Acadiana Advocate's Adam Daigle is reporting that the owners have changed their minds and the building is back up for sale.

The Florida-based franchisee that bought the building for $1.515 million in August 2025, has decided to try to sell the building. As you may recall, the plans were for a tri-brand featuring Dunkin', Baskin-Robbins and Jimmy John's all in one.

Noah's Café: Space for Lease, Equipment for Sale

And finally, we've got a quick update on Noah's Cafe, located at 2310 Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette. The restaurant is up for lease, while the restaurant equipment is for sale, according to a listing on Facebook Marketplace.

As you may remember, the owners appeared to be behind in paying their parish sales tax, forcing the restaurant to shut its doors.

The listing details the offering as follows:

• Restaurant equipment for sale/space for lease
• Over 15 years of customers same location
• Roughly 2600 sq ft seats around 100 people
• Commerical-grade equipment
• Three-year lease, $3865 monthly + electricity and gas
• $20,000 for all the equipment and tables, etc.
