5 Road Trips Louisiana Families Can Squeeze In Before School Starts
(KMDL-FM) Bells will be ringing- not the Christmas Bells will be ringing; the school bells will be ringing sooner rather than later, and before you get back into your routine for the next nine months, how about a mini vacay?
You know, a four-day getaway that you can easily drive to, find reasonable accommodation, find plenty to do, and make it as jam-packed or as laid back as you want it to be.
Here's How We Researched Each Mini Vacay Getaway
For our research into these getaway suggestions for you, we followed the following criteria. We wanted a destination that had no more than six hours of driving. We also wanted that destination to offer activities that would appeal to a family with two school-age children.

We set the time constraints as four days for our trip. We assumed most of the first day would be driving. Then three nights and a drive back on the fourth day. For accommodation, we set our limits at three-star or higher.
We Picked Accommodations and Restaurants That Are Right in the Middle

We opted for these standards so you would have an idea of what “the middle” would cost. A savvy traveler could most certainly book the destinations we are about to describe for lower than the estimate we’ve included.
Of course, those who demand bougie will find plenty of options that will cost quite a bit more. We know cost and value are major considerations for every family these days; we hope we’ve piqued your curiosity and maybe given you some thoughts for another getaway during a long break in the school year.
