
Becky Lane in Lafayette Is Closing August 17 Through September 30 for Drainage Work
LAFAYETTE, La. - Oh, My, Gosh, Becky, look at your Lane. (Okay, sorry, that may have been a little much for a road closure story, but the setup was there and sometimes we can't help ourselves.)

Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has announced that Becky Lane in Lafayette will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting on Monday, August 17, through September 30, 2026. About half of the road will be closed, which is the stretch between Kaliste Saloom Road and Drury Lane.
Why Becky Lane Is Closing — Drainage and Erosion Work in the Coulee
The closure is necessary to allow crews to perform routine maintenance, including replacing drainage infrastructure and erosion control measures within the coulee.
Detour Route and How to Navigate Around the Closure
Local access will be allowed throughout the closure, but motorists should follow posted detours and use caution in the work zone.

The detour route is Kaliste Saloom Road to Rue Louis XIV to Drury Lane.
