Lafayette Takes Top Spots on Louisiana 'Cheeseburger Bucket List

LAFAYETTE, La. - Simply put, it's hard to beat a great cheeseburger. Luckily, in Louisiana, we're really good at food, and food is what we do. Sure, we're famous for our Cajun and Creole cuisine, but locals know we're secretly killing it when it comes to other things...like delicious cheeseburgers.

One website has put together a list of the ultimate "Cheeseburger Bucket List" covering all corners of Louisiana, and Lafayette has landed two spots on their list.

Louisiana's Cheeseburger Scene Deserves More Attention

As legendary as those Cajun and Creole classics are, there's another local favorite that often flies under the radar: the cheeseburger.

Across Louisiana, you'll find restaurants serving up hand-crafted burgers stacked high with perfectly seasoned beef, melted cheese, crispy bacon, fresh toppings, and signature sauces. Some are old-school diners that have been grilling burgers for decades, while others are newer local hotspots putting their own spin on things.

To be honest, I've never had a cheeseburger here in Acadiana that I didn't fall in love with. I mean, I guess there is such a thing as bad cheeseburger, but I sure haven't found it yet that's for sure.

As usual, quite a few cheeseburgers from New Orleans made the bucket list, but there are also places from Shreveport, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, and as I mentioned in the headline, Lafayette.
