The 2026 Cajun Heartland State Fair Is Coming to Lafayette May 22–31 — Here’s Everything to Know

LAFAYETTE, La.- It's nearly "Geaux Geaux, Fun Fun" time at the Cajundome in Lafayette as dates have been announced for the 2026 Cajun Heartland State Fair.

This year's festivities will take place from Friday, May 22, through Sunday, May 31, 2026, on the grounds of the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana.

As always, there will be plenty of fun things to do and see. The fair features a fantastic carnival with rides and games, great family attractions including Dino Takeover & Mini Golf, Magic Mr. Nick, and new this year, Cowtown. Of course, there will also be the Coca-Cola Grandstand with awesome live music from local and regional acts. (The entertainment lineup will be announced soon.)

Cajun Heartland State Fair 2026 Admission Prices and Hours

Parking is free at Cajun Field for the Cajun Heartland State Fair, and admission is as follows:

• Daily general admission: $5; 5 & under free admission
• Admission fee is $10 on Friday & Saturday nights starting at 7 p.m.
• No re-entry, clear bag policy
• Admission gate closes one hour prior to ride close
• Early Bird Savings: Purchase your admission tickets early and save. Details coming soon.

Operated by Amusement Midway Providers, this year's midway will feature a slew of great rides and fun games.

Magic Money is an electronic token system held on a Magic Money Card/band, using an RFID chip. Attractions at the 2026 Cajun Heartland State Fair

Once you're on the grounds of the CHSF, there are plenty of free attractions to enjoy. Most are part of your admission into the fair, and some add-on activities are available at a nominal fee.

• Cowtown 
  • This museum and live exhibit contains an old-time creamery where patrons participate in preparing a cow for milking, milking by hand or machine, and pasteurizing for a finished product. Through their bilingual demonstrations, they show that agriculture has no barriers. Kids get hands-on experiences with the process of making butter and ice cream using historic tools and machines in these processes, and they learn the concept of "Home Made" just the way Grandma used to do it.
• Dino Takeover & Mini Golf
  • Step back in time to meet some of your favorite dinosaurs. Families won’t just watch the show; they’ll become part of it as they help “train” the lifelike dinosaurs and learn fascinating prehistoric facts along the way. And for the ultimate thrill, a few lucky kids will get to play a wild game of hide-and-seek with a 2000 lb carnivore. Get pictures with life-sized dinosaurs, including a 50-foot Brachiosaurus, T-Rex, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, and many others. Plus, visit the Mobile Museum, full of dinosaur fossils and artifacts, to learn about our prehistoric past. You can even play a friendly game of Dinosaur Mini Golf.
• Magic Mr. Nick
  • Be amazed with this all-new interactive comedy magic show designed especially for families. The show includes clean, family comedy. Don’t blink! You will see things appear and disappear right before your eyes, including Nick's puppy, Cranberry! Get ready to laugh, gasp, and say "wait - how did he DO that?!"

Miss Dolly's Lounge and Inside Cajundome Experiences

There will also be something for everyone at Miss Dolly's Table Lounge Room. Located inside the Cajundome, Miss Dolly's Lounge features decor and photo props inspired by the Queen of Country.

What to Know Before You Go: Rules, Age Policy, and Clear Bag Requirements

A clear bag policy will be in effect for this year's Cajun Heartland State Fair.

Also, keep in mind that while all youth are welcome to the CHSF, those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older from 7 pm to close daily.
