Developing Lafayette reports that Hot Pot Restaurant will be opening soon in the former location of Royal Curry.

Located at 4510 Ambassador Suite J in Lafayette, Hot Pot Restaurant bills itself as a Filipino and Chinese restaurant.

Hot Pot Restaurant will be offering a unique dining experience to Lafayette with its Filipino and Chinese cuisine.

Hot Pot is the name of the restaurant but it's also a style of cooking.

You can find hot pot-style cooking currently at restaurants like Blue Basil Wine & Grill and Pho Home, but Hot Pot Restaurant will be bringing something new to the table with their Filipino and Chinese fusion coupled with a communal style dining experience.

"Hot pot is a popular Chinese cooking method that involves simmering a communal pot of broth at the center of the table and cooking a variety of raw ingredients, such as meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles, in the broth."

Hot pot cooking is all about the broth.

A metal pot with seasoned broth is placed on the table and brought to a boil and simmers for the duration of the meal.

Raw ingredients like meats and vegetables are then placed into the simmering broth to cook.

The cooked pieces are then dipped into delicious sauces for more flavor. Hot pot is usually served with rice or noodles on the side.

Developing Lafayette says they expect Hot Pot Restaurant to be open for business by the end of April 2023.
