(KMDL-FM) - For Louisiana residents who have stars in their eyes and a desire to see their name in lights on the silver scre,en that opportunity may be closer than you think. Granted it is possible you could pull up your Louisiana stakes and head west to Hollywood in California for your chance at being a movie star. Or you could stay a lot closer to home.

The closer-to-home option is certainly more viable here in the Gulf South than it has been in previous decades. State governments in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas have been working closely with film and television producers to make shooting feature films and programs in the state profitable for all involved.

In some cases, the films being produced in Louisiana are not the large-screen blockbusters that you see represented on Oscar night. Instead, many of the feature films shot around the area are either for limited theatrical release or they are filmed for a television release. There have been several Hallmark Holiday movies filmed in the area in recent years in both Lafayette and New Iberia.

But the film that producers need extras for is not a small budget made for TV movie. This is a legitimate Hollywood Blockbuster. In fact the movie "franchise" is now on its third evolution. The original film is entitled Cash Out and it starred John Travolta.

Travolta also starred in "High Rollers" a sequel to the Cash Out film. Now comes word that Travolta is back along the Gulf Coast and is shooting Cash Out 3. High Rollers was filmed at the Scarlet Pearl Casino in D'Iberville back in 2023.

Apparently, Travolta's character, Mason Goddard a master casino thief, is having trouble staying retired and is on the prowl for his next caper. And as luck would have it, there just happens to be a casino or two along Interstate 10.

The bulk of the filming will take place in Biloxi and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast over the next few weeks but producers are in need of extras to be in the movie.

If you can look the part of an FBI Agent the people at Morgan Casting would like to visit with you. The extras will be needed for shooting on Wednesday and Thursday in the Biloxi area but you still have time to submit your application and photos if you're interested.
