Super Chix Chicken & Custard Has Permanently Closed Its Only Louisiana Location in Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, La. (KMDL-FM) - A fast-casual dining spot that had only been open for about a year and a half has shut down in Lafayette.
Super Chix Chicken & Custard has closed its location at 2011 Kaliste Saloom Road, near the River Ranch area. The restaurant had opened in the fall of 2024 inside the Camellia Oaks development, occupying a roughly 2,800-square-foot space.

Super Chix's Lafayette Location Was the Only One in Louisiana
The Lafayette location was believed to be the only Super Chix in Louisiana. Original plans had called for as many as six locations across the state, but that expansion never materialized, and given the outcome of the Lafayette location, that expansion may never happen.

Lafayette Co-Owner Billy Jacob Has Deep Ties to Local Restaurant Scene
The spot was co-owned by Lafayette native Billy Jacob, who is also behind the local Five Guys. His family has deep roots in the local restaurant scene. His parents, Olite and Lawrence Jacob, were the owners of the well-known Jacob's Restaurants at the Four Corners area of Lafayette.
What Was on the Menu at Super Chix?
Super Chix, a chain with around 50 locations nationwide, built its menu around chicken sandwiches, tenders, fresh-cut fries, salads, and frozen custard.
