Louisiana Lottery Confirms Saturday Powerball Win
Attention lottery players in Louisiana we have reason to believe that Lady Luck has once again returned to The Boot. If you follow the Louisiana Lottery's draw games you know the "lady" has been conspicuously absent over the past six weeks. Now, there was a big Powerball win in Frierson, Louisiana of $150,000 on the 10th but up until then there had not been a big money Powerball win in Louisiana since the first week of June.
The Mega Millions game, the other multi-state lottery game available in Louisiana has been even more inconsistent with big money winners for Louisiana. The last time Mega Millions produced a win over $10,000 was back in May. That ticket was worth $2,000,000 and was sold in New Orleans.
And one more piece of unfinished lottery business before we get you the details of Saturday's big win: a $50,000 Powerball ticket will expire on Thursday if it is not claimed. That ticket was sold in January in Mandeville, Louisiana.
Now let's get to the good news from the weekend. A Powerball ticket sold for the Saturday, July 13, 2024 drawing was a $50,000 winner. Here's how that drawing unfolded on Saturday evening.
The numbers that we saw roll out of the hopper were:
09 55 59 66 69 Powerball 21 Power Play x 2
Use those numbers for reference but please verify your ticket at the Official Powerball Website or the Official Louisiana Lottery Website. Those sites can confirm your exact prize and explain how to claim your winnings if you were fortunate enough to purchase a winning ticket.
Our sources with Powerball say no tickets were sold across the game's footprint that matched the numbers needed to claim the jackpot prize of $54.8 million. That jackpot will now climb to an estimated $64 million for tonight's Powerball drawing. That is the estimate for the annuity, the lump sum estimate is a payout of $30.7 million.
There was a ticket sold in Illinois that earned the Powerball Match 5 Million prize. That ticket matched all five of the white balls but not the Powerball. The ticket's purchasers also opted for the Power Play so their total winnings are $2 million before taxes.
In Louisiana, the $50,000 winner sold here was purchased in Baton Rouge at the RaceTrac Gas Station on Burbank Drive. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball but did not have the Power Play option included.
The jackpots are also rising in the state's other Louisiana-only draw games, Lotto and Easy 5. On Wednesday the Lotto jackpot will be an estimated $1.7 million. The Easy 5 top prize will be an estimated $230,000. Oh, and Tuesday's Mega Millions actually has the largest single prize of all this week. The jackpot in that game will be an estimated annuitized $226 million on Tuesday.
As you know, most lottery tickets purchased are not winners. Please spend only what you can afford to lose. If you have a gambling problem help is available free of charge when you dial 1-877-770- STOP (7867). Good Luck.
