Louisiana Woman’s Doritos Commercial Misses Super Bowl Finals, Fans Disappointed
Oh man, this one is just heartbreaking. The Scott, Louisiana woman whose hilarious Doritos commercial was up for Frito-Lay's "Crash the Super Bowl" contest has not made it as a semifinalist.
It was so good too!
In case you didn't see the commercial, here it is in all its side-splitting glory.
The entry, titled "Ashes to Ashes," was written and directed by Abbeville filmmaker John Paul Summers.
It starred Becca Begnaud, a traiteur (or faith healer), from Scott.
Begnaud's creative submission into the contest drew much praise on social media in south Louisiana, with its clever use of Doritos "dust" and the contents of an urn.

Many who watched it, enjoyed it and raved about the ad's hilarity and unique twist.
But, unfortunately, the ad did not make it as one of the three finalists, Doritos announced on Tuesday.
Another entry, entitled "Home from Work," had a humorous take on the return to the office post-COVID. That spot featured longtime Lafayette actor Bruce Coen, who now lives in Georgia.
Sadly, that entry did not make the finals either.
Whichever of the three finalists wins the "Crash the Super Bowl" contest will receive $1 million, an all-expenses paid trip to New Orleans for the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, and the thrill of seeing their commercial air during the big game.
