LSU Fans Will Be Part of a ‘Taylor Swift-like’ Show on Saturday
Baton Rouge, Louisiana will be buzzing this Saturday. It will also be blinking and there will probably be a lot of yelling. This is as fans from Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette, and New Orleans converge on Louisiana State University's Tiger Stadium for a football game that might remind you of a Taylor Swift concert.
The football game on Saturday between LSU and the University of Mississippi will have national title implications. Both schools are currently ranked in the national polls and the winner will likely have a leg up when it comes to consideration for the National Championship Playoff picture.
Las Vegas oddsmakers and sportsbooks across Louisiana currently have the visiting Rebels of Ole Miss as a field goal favorite to defeat the Tigers. But the football game isn't the only aspect of this Saturday's gathering in Baton Rouge that fans will be talking about.
In fact, some fans might find a strong resemblance between Saturday's Halftime Show/ LSU Marching Band performance and a Taylor Swift Concert. By the way, if you'd like to win a pair of free tickets to see Taylor Swift in New Orleans later this month, click this link.
Here's how Tiger football and Taylor Swifties will have a common bond on Saturday. As fans enter the stadium they will notice an LED wristband in their seat. These wristbands are programmed to flash and blink to the beat of the musical presentation at Tiger Stadium on Saturday. It's being billed as an "in-game experience never seen at Tiger Stadium".
Fans are encouraged to hold on to the wristband that goes with their seat. Organizers say trading bands with fans in other sections might diminish the impact of Saturday's planned light/music extravaganza.
The special presentation coincides with the 100th Anniversary of Tiger Stadium. Nearly 150 former players are expected to be in attendance. Included in that group are national championship-winning quarterbacks Warren Rabb and Matt Flynn. Former LSU quarterback and Offensive Coordinator Steve Ensminger will also serve with Rabb and Flynn as guest captains.
Saturday's game kicks off at 6:30 ESPN will provide television coverage.
