
Warm Weather Shifts Lafayette’s Mardi Gras Plans In A Big Way
(KMDL-FM) Last week at this time, we were warning parade-goers in Louisiana celebrating Mardi Gras to be aware of potential hypothermia situations along the parade routes. This weekend, that forecast has shifted. It's as if we are in two different seasons. But such is the nature of February forecasting in Lafayette.

Last weekend's outlook called for wind chill temperatures in the 20s for much of the weekend. This weekend's forecast will come with warnings about applying sunscreen and remembering that not all beverages hydrate you.
What is the Weather Forecast for Acadiana This Weekend?
To make your enjoyment of the many Mardi Gras events and celebrations going on this weekend and next weekend, the National Weather Service Forecast Office is issuing pinpoint forecasts for the parade routes.
These forecasts are very location-specific, and they are created with hourly updates and hourly forecasts so you can plan your wardrobe. In many cases, you won't need a jacket during the daytime parades, but if you're setting up along the route in the early morning hours, you might.
