Louisiana Sharks Fish & Chicken in Lafayette Now Open

The next update we have very little information on, but we know some of you have been awaiting its opening.

It appears that Louisiana Sharks Fish & Chicken, located at 312 Jefferson Boulevard in Lafayette, appears to be open. While nothing has been posted on the business's Facebook page, an update on the Foodies of Lafayette group says the restaurant in the old Burger King is now open.

The menu is pretty vast and features fish (multiple varieties), other seafood like frog legs, scallops, and oysters, along with shrimp, chicken, wings, plus appetizers like fried okra, hushpuppies, fried pickles, and more.

The good news is that if you want to give it a try, it appears you won't have to wait in quite the line as the new Southern Classic Chicken on Johnston Street in Lafayette.

Banh Mi Shop to Open Near Costco in Lafayette

A new banh mi shop will be opening in the next couple of months in the former Zero Degrees space near Costco in Lafayette. Zero Degrees vacated the space in September of last year after a four-year run.

Toasted Baguette will occupy the space at 114 Meadow Farm Road. Owner Khai Nguyen is eyeing an opening either towards the end of July or early August.

The restaurant will offer banh mi, which in Vietnamese cuisine is a short baguette with thin, crisp crust and a soft, airy texture. It's often split lengthwise and filled with meat and savory ingredients like a submarine sandwich, and served as a meal, called banh mi thit.

Nguyen says that their banh mi will include traditional flavors with a modern twist, along with Vietnamese coffee with Café du Monde beans.

We wish all three of these new businesses the best of luck and hope they're part of the Acadiana business landscape for years to come!
