A delivery person in Louisiana was arrested after she allegedly stole something that she was set to deliver.

WBRZ reports that 24-year-old Kayla Wheeler was arrested after authorities reviewed photos of a package that was delivered to a home in early August.

The person awaiting the package noticed that the iPad she was waiting for was removed and missing from the package and that is when she alerted authorities (The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office) and the investigation began.

Police were able to determine that Wheeler, who worked for FedEx at the time of the delivery, removed the device from the package and then stole it.

WBRZ reports that Wheeler was arrested on Sept. 20 for theft under $1,000.

Remember, when ordering anything online be sure to track your package while it is in transit and you should always examine the package thoroughly when you do receive it in the mail or at your doorstep.

Another tip for those who will have many packages delivered for the holidays is to have your packages sent to the address where you work so that your packages aren't sitting at the front door all day.

Sadly, there are still those in communities who follow delivery trucks only to take what is left behind and that is not theirs.
