Early voting is currently happening in Louisiana, and you can vote now through Tuesday, October 29 excluding Sunday, October 27 according to Secretary of State Nancy Landry.

Whether you decide to vote early or wait until Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, there are a few things you need to know before heading to the polls.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PRECINCT I VOTE AT ON ELECTION DAY?

The law states that anyone wanting to vote in Louisiana needs to bring a pictured ID. Several forms of identification can be shown to vote:

  • Your Louisiana Driver's License
  • LA Wallet Digital Driver's License
  • Louisiana Special Identification Card
  • United States Military Identification Card That Contains Your Name and Picture or Another Generally Recognized ID with Your Signature On It.

Can I Vote If I Don't Have My I.D. On Me?

According to the Secretary of State's Office, you can vote without a photo I.D. by signing an affidavit. Officials say that as a voter, you will need to answer questions that are specific to you correctly.

Early voting will take place in Acadia Parish at two different locations in St. Landry Parish this year because of the construction that is ongoing at the courthouse. People can early vote at the Delta Grand Theatre in Opelousas or Eunice City Hall. The Delta Grand is located at 120 South Market Street in Opelousas and the Eunice City Hall is located at 300 South Second Street.
