
Louisiana Officials Capture a Man Who Went on a Violent Crime Spree
Louisiana officials say they have arrested a man who is now facing multiple felony charges after going on a violent crime spree through several parishes.
Valerie Ponseti, who is the Public Information Officer with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, says deputies arrested a man who began a crime spree in Calcasieu Parish and ended up in Lafayette Parish.
Officials say that 36-year-old Shannon Morris of Lake Charles started his crime spree by stealing a car in Calcasieu Parish before driving into Acadia Parish, where he committed more crimes.
Ponseti says Morris continued to add to his multiple crimes when he went to Lafayette Parish, but that is when his string of violent crimes was halted with his arrest by deputies.
Morris has been charged with the following crimes:
- First-Degree Rape
- False Imprisonment
- Aggravated Burglary
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling
- Illegal Possession of Stolen Things
He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
