Lafayette Police Looking for Man Who Stole Equipment From Truck of Storm Response Lineman
The Lafayette Police Department, in collaboration with Lafayette Crime Stoppers, is seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in the theft of valuable equipment from a storm response lineman's vehicle on September 9, 2024, in the parking lot of a local hotel.
The suspect, captured on surveillance, was seen stealing the lineman’s equipment from the bed of his truck. Law enforcement officials have released images of the individual in hopes that someone may recognize him. The suspect was last seen driving a white Nissan Pathfinder, heading southbound on Ambassador Caffery towards Cameron Street.
This theft affects the lineman, which is vital to storm response efforts, and poses a risk to public safety during storm recovery operations. The stolen equipment is a must for restoring power and aiding community recovery following severe weather.
