Shooting in New Iberia, Louisiana on Monday Afternoon Leaves One Man Injured

The New Iberia Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place at an apartment complex on Monday afternoon that left one person injured.

According to Captain Leland Laseter, officers responded to a call shortly after 5:30 pm on Monday, September 16, 2024 of shots fired.

The shooting took place at City Heights Magnolia Place Apartments in the 1000 block of East Dale Street.

Once on scene, officers found an unidentified male in the parking lot of the apartment complex who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Laseter said the victim is now in stable condition.

Laseter told KLFY News that they are “working to try to put the pieces together and figure out who’s responsible for this.”

The shooting remains under investigation.
