
Vibrant Louisiana Mardi Gras Festivities Captured in Stunning Photos
Iconic, spectacular, unforgettable, and exhilarating are just some of the adjectives that can be used to describe a Mardi Gras parade in Louisiana; our parades never disappoint.
Louisiana's Mardi Gras is in full swing, with parades happening each weekend between now and Fat Tuesday.
The 42nd annual Mardi Gras parade rolled through Carencro with bands, floats, and plenty of throws as crowds lined the streets.
Where Was The Parade Held?
The parade began at Carencro High School, turned onto University Street, and ended at the Carencro Community Center.
The Carencro Mardi Gras Association organizes the parade each year. It's a family event enjoyed by people of all ages.
You could see families gathered all up and down the parade route, many of which had tables set up preparing food. Many families brought out their BBQ pits to make a day of the festivities.

One thing is for sure: people were decked out in many great outfits full of Mardi Gras cheer. They looked beautiful, and their day was full of merriment.
A variety of great outfits were on display throughout the parade route in Carencro on Saturday, February 15. This lady was showing off her sequins in Mardi Gras colors.
If you were to take a look around in Carencro, there were a variety of t-shirts, people wearing boots with Mardi Gras fur and these ladies who had on the most amazing boots! One of the lovely ladies sporting these boots let us in on her secret. She purchased them online from a Gretna company named Shoe Nami. You know what I'm doing today? I'm buying these AMAZING boots!
Mardi Gras in Carencro was full of families celebrating, having a good time, and sharing their food and beverages with the people around them. You have to love Acadiana; we know how to have a party and make everyone part of the family.
The floats that we saw had the happiest people, and more importantly, they made the parade goers happy with all of the things they were throwing at the crowds. First came a variety of law enforcement officials, along with several members of the court of the Carencro Mardi Gras Association and the parade's Grand Marshal. The Carencro Fire Department was throwing plenty of great items.
We saw the Carencro High School Mascot, what a cute bear!
We even saw an alligator roaming the parade route!
As the parade was rolling, we saw so many fantastic floats, including Queen Anna's float.
We also saw all the fun happening on Mayor Charlotte Clavier Stemmans' float.

The people on this float were having a blast! You can even see a hula hoop flying into the crowd!

It was an amazing day, even if the sun wasn't shining much. The wind helped to make the American, Louisiana, and Acadian flags fly as they were perched on the back of this truck, pulling the Voodoo child float.
