LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) — It’s a late-night staple for road-weary travelers, third-shifters, and folks craving a hot, greasy plate of hashbrowns “all the way.” And now, Waffle House is stepping into the delivery game—for the first time ever.

Waffle House recently announced it will begin offering late-night delivery at 500 of its restaurants nationwide, part of a growing trend among restaurants trying to capture the booming overnight food delivery crowd. The service, powered by online ordering platform Olo, will run nightly from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. through the Waffle House website and app.

Is Louisiana on the List?

As of now, Waffle House hasn’t released a full list of participating locations. With more than 100 Waffle House restaurants spread across Louisiana—from Shreveport to Slidell and everywhere in between—it’s not unreasonable to think at least a few Bayou State, including here in Lafayette, could soon make the cut.

Patrick Marshburn, executive VP at Waffle House, noted the company will “continue to evaluate expanding delivery to more of our restaurants in the coming months.” That leaves open the possibility that Louisiana could soon be next in line for those smothered and covered late-night deliveries.

Why Late-Night Makes Sense

The move taps into a growing market. According to DoorDash, food orders between midnight and 5 a.m. jumped 44 percent last year. Other major chains like Starbucks and Pizza Hut are already adjusting hours and delivery models to meet the demand. Waffle House, long known for its 24/7 operations, doesn’t even need to stretch hours to cash in—it just needs to hand off the bag to a driver.

And here in Louisiana, where the nightlife doesn’t quit and food culture is king, late-night Waffle House delivery could be an instant hit. Imagine wrapping up a night on Bourbon Street or after a Friday night high school football game and having a hot All-Star Special show up at your front door.

What's Next?

Waffle House hasn’t confirmed whether any Louisiana locations are already part of the 500-store launch, but we’ll be watching closely. With its deeply loyal customer base and iconic status across the South, Waffle House entering the delivery arena is more than just a convenience—it’s a game-changer.

Until then, if you want your hashbrowns scattered, smothered, and delivered, you might have to drive to the nearest Waffle House yourself. But that could be changing very soon.
