Jennings Native Travis Etienne Named ACC Player of the Year…Again
Jennings native Travis Etienne, a star junior running back for the Clemson Tigers, has been named the 2019 ACC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
He is only the 7th player in ACC history to be named Conference Player of the Year twice.
So far this season, Etienne has rushed for 1,386 yards and 16 touchdowns on 168 rushes this season. He also has 28 catches for 289 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In addition to being the ACC POY, Etienne set new Atlanta Coast Conference records over the weekend.
During #3 Clemson's 38-3 route of South Carolina on Saturday, Etienne scored his 57th career touchdown from scrimmage and 53rd rushing touchdown of his career. Both marks are new ACC records.
Clemson (12-0) will play 2, and potentially 3 more games. They are a 29 point favorite against Virginia this Saturday in the ACC Championship game. With a win, they will advance to the College Football Playoff.
With more games left, Etienne, only a junior, will likely add to his ACC touchdown records.
