Hip-Hop Mourns the Death of Juice Wrld
The world of hip-hop is once again in mourning.
On Sunday morning (Dec. 8), it was sadly announced that Juice Wrld passed away at the age of 21. According to The New York Times, the young talent suffered a seizure upon landing in Chicago's Midway Airport following a flight from Los Angeles. He was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m., a short time after being transported to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Illinois confirmed the death. The cause of death is pending an autopsy report.
Immediately following the news, Juice's peers began using social media to mourn the loss of a young talent gone entirely too soon.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO," Juice's longtime friend and collaborator Ski Mask The Slump God wrote on Twitter upon learning the news. The pair had been planning a joint project for over a year. "BRUH AT THIS FUCKING POINT TAKE ME TOO. HE CANT BE GONE ! They Keep Taking My Brothers From Me Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
Fellow Chicago rhymer Warhol.SS was also in mourning mode.
"It don’t feel real making this post rn," he captioned a picture of Juice on Instagram. "U was a cool ass nigga bro. I remember u asked Cole to ask me about coming to Vancouver on yo tour and I was on the next flight out. Yo energy was strong. Rap niggas wasn’t cut like u. Long live the real."
Lil Yachty was also moved by news of his friend Juice's passing.
"Wow, I cannot believe this. RIP my brother Juice Wrld," he wrote on Twitter.
"Bye brother. Love you dawg. RIP," Boat captioned a photo with Juice on Instagram.
