Beef seems to be brewing among Canadian singers with crossover appeal, as Justin Bieber recently made it clear that he's not cool with The Weeknd or his music. In the video above, a TMZ cameraman asks him about the XO singer, Bieber saying, "Hell no I can’t listen to a Weeknd song. That shit’s wack."

Any friction between the two singers would be a result of recent rumors linking Weeknd to Bieber's ex Selena Gomez. Photos surfaced earlier this month of Weeknd and Gomez sharing a kiss, leading many to believe the two musicians were an item. The chart-topping singer had previously dated model Bella Hadid, the two breaking up back in November due to reported schedule difficulties.

The light jab isn't likely to damage the roll The Weeknd has found himself on, his album Starboy sitting atop the Billboard 200 chart for a third consecutive week. It debuted at No. 1 in December, returning to the top spot earlier this month. His single "Starboy," meanwhile, has gone twice platinum since its release in September. The song is currently No. 4 on the Hot 100.

While Bieber and The Weeknd have never collaborated together, they share a number of affiliated artists such as Drake and Travis Scott. Catch Bieber's comments in the video up above, with The Weeknd set to take his smash album on the road starting next month, with Lil Uzi Vert and Bryson Tiller scheduled to join him on select dates.
